Supporters of “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” alum Tommie Lee were somewhat confused after a new post was uploaded to her social media despite her reportedly being in jail.
An image of Lee sporting a white jogging suit from Fashion Nova and Versace tee was uploaded to her Instagram feed on Sunday evening. The mother of two also appeared to relay a message to fans in her caption, saying, “Attention is the new currency, that’s why you have to PAY IT don’t let that go over your head.”
Seeing as Lee was reportedly being held behind bars without bail, fans were confused to see her still active on Instagram and wondered if she’d been released from jail yet.
“Wait she’s home?” one fan asked. “I’m confused weird flex but okay .”
Another fan commented, “So she’s out already? What’s her lawyers name .”
“Tommie is back and she came to kill ,” a third person wrote.
“I knew you were free boo the feds can’t lock you down,” someone else commented.
However, according to the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office’s website, she is still behind bars. A friend of hers is believed to be the person behind keeping her social media active.
On March 14, she was hauled off to jail without bail after violating her bond that day by showing up to court intoxicated for her child abuse case. Family and friends reportedly told TMZ that the 34-year-old had been attempting sobriety weeks before she was scheduled to show up to court last month, but the stress of her child abuse case allegedly triggered her to fall off the wagon.
In October 2018, the reality television veteran was charged with child cruelty for allegedly physically assaulting her younger daughter at the child’s middle school. She was arrested and then released the day after the alleged incident but was thrown back in jail within 24 hours on charges of violating an order to refrain from all contact with the child. Lee could face as much as 54 years behind bars after being indicted on multiple child abuse charges in January.
Despite Lee’s ongoing legal woes, fans continue to shower her with a stream of support.
