Runs In the Family: Serena Williams’s Daughter Embraces Tennis, While Evelyn Lozada’s Son Takes After MLB Star Dad

There are tons of celebrity offspring who take after their parent’s high-profile careers but some kids get their start in the game early.

Case in point, Serena Williams’s daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. and Evelyn Lozada’s son Carl Leo.

Williams uploaded a video on Instagram Monday of her 1-year-old picking up tennis rackets and playing with them. As the toddler runs back and forth throughout the living room, she grabs tennis rackets and tosses them on the floor.

“History in the making….” Williams captioned the April 22 footage.

“Next generation Champion!”

Commenters quickly began to remark about how Olympia was taking after her 23-time Grand Slam champion mama.

“She better take after u 😇💋🇧🇼❤

“She’s not dropping the mic she’s dropping the racket❤ History in the making!🏆🏅

“Smash that racket, babygirl!” commented Williams’ husband and Olympia’s dad, tech entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian.

Williams has opened up about her outlook on daughter’s career aspirations before. She admitted she doesn’t want to put pressure on her little one to live up to her own success in the sport.

“I don’t know. It’s a lot of work,” she told USA Today last year. “Plus, I mean, I don’t want her to have pressure from what I did, you guys (the media) talking about, ‘Are you going to be able to do as good as your mom? I don’t want her to have that.”

It’s not just Williams’ daughter who has taken an interest in her parent’s career. Lozada’s son is taking after his retired Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder dad, Carl Crawford.

The “Basketball Wives” star uploaded a video of her 5-year-old seemingly with his dad practicing his swing. The youngster not only hit the ball on a batting tee but also hit the ball when it was pitched to him.

“Practice with a pro! ⚾💪🏽 #CarlLeoCrawford #LittleLeague #MLB #5YearsOld” Lozada captioned the image.

Fans raved about the tot’s batting skills, which he seems to have inherited from Crawford, to whom Lozada was once engaged.

“Come on Leo 🙌🏽💙 🔥🔥🔥 he gonna be a beast‼‼‼

“Like Father like Son…you got you a little athlete!!🔥🔥💕

“He’s doing this at 5 😳 @evelynlozada Leo got all the juice🙌🏾

Lozada has been sharing her son’s progress with the game not only on her Instagram page but on his own Instagram account too, which shows he’s been playing America’s favorite pastime since he was 3.
