Ayesha Curry got some heat for her honest comments about groupies trying to get a taste of her NBA player husband Steph Curry. Now, she has addressed the backlash and is giving no apologies.

“I have never been one to cage my feelings and emotions to any capacity. I am human,” Curry wrote on Instagram on Wednesday. “It brings me pure joy to speak my mind, be vulnerable at times and to know myself inside and out… If what I’m not afraid to say out loud about being a 30yr mama of 3 helps another woman like me feel like they’re not the alone and not the only one with an insecurity (because we ALL have them, don’t play) then that makes all of this hoopla worth it.”
She continued, “If you get a chance to watch the actual RTT [Red Table Talk]and not the headlines and rumors please do!” She closes with “find your joy and speak your truth unapologetically.”

This is me throwing a pair of spanx in a Marie Kondo-Esque bin. “Does it spark joy?” I have never been one to cage my feelings and emotions to any capacity. I am human. It brings me pure joy to speak my mind, be vulnerable at times and to know myself inside and out. Seeing as how it’s mental health awareness month I really want to take the time to encourage everyone to speak their truth regardless of perception, fitting into a mold or offending someone, because it’s YOUR truth. And that’s okay! If what I’m not afraid to say out loud about being a 30yr mama of 3 helps another woman like me feel like they’re not the alone and not the only one with an insecurity (because we ALL have them, don’t play) then that makes all of this hoopla worth it. If you get a chance to watch the actual RTT and not the headlines and rumors please do! There is so much more depth to the talk and our family is grateful to @jadapinkettsmith for giving us the opportunity to bond together. As women let’s continue to uplift, empower and not suppress and compress our feelings and thoughts, as fleeting as some of them may be . Love to you all! Go FIND YOUR JOY and SPEAK YOUR TRUTH unapologetically. (that’s all-Miranda voice)
In case you missed it, Curry appeared on Jada Pinkett Smith‘s “Red Table Talk.” When discussing groupies, she said, “Stephen is very nice by nature, and he’s very talkative. Everything’s very friendly and sometimes to the point where I’m like ‘Okay I’m a grown woman’ so I just insert myself and be like ‘Hello, how are you doing?’”
She also said a flock of groupies once tried to get close to Steph outside of the car while she was breastfeeding her daughter inside.
“This group of people came over and they’re trying to ask Stephen for pictures and autographs,” Curry recalled. “The woman opens the car door, sticks her body in the car and is like, ‘Oh, let me see [the baby].“ Curry said she responded by saying, “No, get out of the car,” to which the woman said, “Oh, honey, you know what you signed up for.”
Even though Curry said that she has since grown used to women constantly “lurking” for her husband, she still hates it. Also, she said she does not get attention from men the way her husband gets attention from women, “Yeah there are all these women throwing themselves, but me, the past 10 years, I don’t have any of that,” Curry said. “I have zero, this sound weird, male attention. I’m like is there something wrong with me?”
Some haters on social media accused Curry of hating on women and didn’t like that she admitted to wanting attention from men.
Hater gonna hate. Ayesha Curry is clearly living her best life.
