50 Cent has gone after a few people for lending them money and not getting it back in a timely manner or with interest. But in a recent Instagram post he gave Omari Hardwick props for reimbursing him properly.
The “Power” lead stopped by “The Angie Martinez Show” earlier this week to talk about the crime series ending after its sixth season. He also discussed the upcoming spinoffs and prequels that are coming after the drama concludes.
But at one point, Hardwick revealed that he borrowed a substantial amount of money from 50 when he was down and out.
“He loaned me one summer, like, 20 G’s. He said, ‘I can’t have my No. 1 F’d up.’ So he lent me $20,000.”
Hardwick then said he sat down with his wife Jennifer Pfautch, and she told him to pay the rapper back with interest, not just reimburse him.
“Brown people, all of us need to remember that when we loan money that you can’t give back the same amount of money that was loaned to you. Because that person’s money could’ve been making money. So I made sure I gave him that back with interest.”
But that wasn’t the only time 50 loaned Hardwick money. He did it again when the actor and his family were living on both coasts and became cash-strapped.
“Then the next summer he gave me money,” said the actor. “I hadn’t re-upped yet. Didn’t have my new contract. So we were living in this New York life but, you know, bi-coastal. I was trying to figure out life. 50 was like ‘I can’t have my investment F’d up.’”
On Wednesday night, the “Candy Shop” creator posted a clip of the interview to his Instagram page and confirmed Hardwick’s story. He also sent a warning to the other people who owe him money.
“This guy @omarihardwickofficial is the truth. He’s a man of his word. 🤨you other n—as best be coming up with my money by Monday,” wrote Fif.
Hardwick’s explanation comes after 50 called out film producer Randall Emmett in April and claimed that he owed him $1 million, which he’s since received.
The rapper also went after actor Jackie Long earlier this month for a $250,000 loan because, although Long paid him back, he didn’t include the interest.
Plus Fif has been getting at Teairra Mari ever since a judge tossed out her lawsuit against him in January and ordered her to pay the rapper over $30,00 in legal fees.
