It’s safe to say some celebrities have incredibly strong genes in their family.
“Growing Up Hip Hop” star Angela Simmons and the entire Simmons clan apparently happen to be one of those families. Fans often comment on how much the 31-year-old mother favors her father DJ Rev. Run from hip-hop group Run–D.M.C., but a recent post further proved their point.
She took to Instagram on Father’s Day and posted a photo of herself, Rev. Run and her 2-year-old son Sutton Joseph Tennyson in a group photo. The celeb and her father flashed similar smiles while the little one looked off to the right.
She dedicated the post to her father, writing, “My Dad !! Not sure they make them any better than you Dad. Thanks for lifting me up always !! Sj’s PaPa !!! We love you Happy Father’s Day ♥️.”
Fans were blown away by the Simmons’ family apparent strong genes.
“Triplets ❤️ such… amazing beautiful family 💫.”
“All three of y’all are twins Happy Father’s Day Rev Run 💙🌷💙 he hasn’t aged a bit.”
“You Rev Run and SJ are all twins. Gosh all three of you look exactly alike 😲! You and your pops have the same smile 🙌🏽.”
“That’s three of the same person you and SJ look like you pops. Amazing 💯✊🏽❤️.”
Simmons also shared a sweet Father’s Day post to her late ex-fiancé and father of her child Sutton Tennyson, 37, who was killed in November 2018.
She posted an adorable video of Tennyson and their son SJ spending quality time together at a pool. She reflected back on the moment, saying words couldn’t express how much he’s “missed” in their son’s life.
“Words will never be good enough …. to fill the voids I feel for our Baby Boy! Happy Father’s Day !! You are missed 🙏🏽,” she said.
Simmons and Tennyson became engaged in April 2016 and welcomed their now 2-year-old son a few months later in September of that year. However, the pair called off their engagement in December 2017. Simmons claimed they tried to make their relationship work but she eventually grew unhappy.
“I just got to a place where I felt like I wasn’t happy, and I tried, and I tried, and I tried and I wanted it to work because the last thing I wanted to do was not be together with the person I had my child with,” she said during the season 4 premiere of “GUHH.”
