“Built Not Bought” founder Angela Simmons and her toddler Sutton Joseph Tennyson served fashion goals this week in a recent post.
The 31-year-old mother took to Instagram on Tuesday afternoon and posted a photo of her and baby SJ taking a stroll down the street in their fly get-up. Angela sported a plain white t-shirt, olive green joggers, sneakers, a crossbody bag and oversized orange sunglasses. The 2-year-old matched his mother, also wearing a white t-shirt, sneakers and a pair of gray sweatpants with “Snoop Dogg” emblazoned all over them.
In the photo, Simmons appeared to be in protective mommy mode as she and baby SJ apparently walked down the street hand in hand. She wrote in her caption, “So serious about mine 💋.”
Fans fawned over the mother’s post, which received over 72,000 likes.
“Why are you two so cute 😍 this is pure mom and son goals”
“The illest mom and son duo I know 🔥😍 you got it girl..😣.”
“Waaaaait….SJ has on @snoopdogg sweat pants???😂😂 #loveit 💙😍 and love those sneakers always n forever #twins”
“Look at little man showing off his swag like mom 😩🙌🏾 this is picture perfect”
Simmons, the daughter of Joseph “Rev. Run” Simmons, welcomed her son SJ in September 2016 with her ex-fiancé Sutton Tennyson, who was shot to death in November 2018.
The 3-year-old apparently started school this week, and Simmons said via Instagram on Sept. 4, that she wished her ex-fiancé was alive to see their son’s progress.
“I must say today is a bit emotional for me,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “Really wishing his Dad could see his progress. And of course his big first day of school.” She added, “Finally got him to the point where he left and didn’t cry. My big boy!!!”
During an interview with the Los Angeles Sentinel Newspaper in June 2018, the “GUHH” star described motherhood as a big “adjustment’ that she wouldn’t change for the world.
“I definitely think children bring out the best in you. … Motherhood is an experience and matures you in a different way,” she said. “The kid just changes you for the better. I wouldn’t change it.”
